I’m an artist by hobby and, during all the recent coronavirus home quarantine time, I decided to create a YouTube channel to share some artwork progression videos. I have no professional equipment or videography expertise, so I needed a tripod I could use with my smartphone. After a bit of research, I came across Fugetek’s various tripod offerings.
I went with the 51 inch version, which was a good choice to capture an overhead view of paper on a desk. This tripod is very sturdy and well made; seems like a great value considering it’s only about $25. I’ve been very impressed with the wide variety of angles its capable of; you can position the smartphone horizontally, vertically, pointing downward, upward, to the side. I really haven’t needed something that it can’t accommodate yet. It also grips the phone well, and seems like it could be adjusted to hold any phone. It’s got three sections that can each be shortened or lengthened as needed.
I’m very happy with this purchase. In fact, when I was writing this review, I really couldn’t come up with any major negatives. Even the lightness thing I mentioned above is really not huge; a heavier base would make it less portable. So it’s a tradeoff rather than an actual flaw.
